Catching up on the A.R.C.
by The Searcher ini haven't been here for several days, so apologies if similar comments have been posted regarding messrs spinks' & o'brien's "spiritual & scriptural" replies to the australian royal commission last week.. perhaps this line of questioning by mr. stewart could have helped exposed the org's corruption of the "two witness" rule:.
mr stewart: mr. spinks, does the jehovah's witnesses' leadership base their "two witness" rule solely on the bible?.
mr. spinks: yes.

I haven't been here for several days, so apologies if similar comments have been posted regarding Messrs Spinks' & O'Brien's "spiritual & scriptural" replies to the Australian Royal Commission last week.
Perhaps this line of questioning by Mr. Stewart could have helped exposed the org's corruption of the "two witness" rule:
Mr Stewart: Mr. Spinks, does the Jehovah's Witnesses' leadership base their "two witness" rule solely on the Bible?
Mr. Spinks: Yes.
Mr. Stewart: Child abuse is at issue here, but can this Bible "rule" be adjusted or changed for different serious sins?
Mr. Spinks: No it cannot, it applies to all serious sins.
Mr. Stewart: Let me reword my question; in order for elders to proceed with disciplinary action against a member of the congregation, are two witnesses of the person's sin always required?
Mr. Spinks: Yes.
Mr. Stewart: Mr. Spinks, in view of your answers, as a senior member of the Australian Branch of Jehovah's Witnesses, are you unaware of your organization's "rules" that if two people see a member of the opposite sex entering another person's home and then leaving the following morning, an assumption that sexual intercourse has taken place will be made, and both parties will be subjected to disciplinary action based upon that assumption - not upon eyewitness testimony? Also, that Jehovah's Witness elders can accept the testimony of one witness to a serious sin, if another witness can be found to a similar but separate sin by the same accused person? You stated earlier that the "two witness" rule - as J.W.'s apply it - is based on the Bible. Would you reveal to everyone here, exactly where in the Bible the two variations I've just cited, appear?

Which is worse according to the GB: Child Abuse or Apostasy??
by stuckinarut2 inso we all know how the organization conducts itself regarding child abuse.
the multitude of legal cases worldwide including the current australian royal commission as well as anecdotal accounts prove their attitude.. perpetrators have not been reported to authorities, and data bases of such have been kept sealed even when demanded by the courts!.
however, when it comes to those of us who have simply left the organization due to learning the truth, the society spares no effort in spreading gossip and ensuring that one's name and reputation is ruined.. so gb, which crime is worse?

No contest, Stuckinarut!!!!!!!!
Even vandalism of a Kingdom Hall is worse than a J.W. child being raped/sexually abused - as proven by the wording of the November 1st 2016 Branch letter to all bodies of elders:
"Break-ins, thefts, incidents of arson, or other acts of vandalism should be promptly reported to the local authorities."
Crimes against their real estate must be reported "promptly" to authorities, but not paedophilia!

Thanks again WiFibandit.
It shouldn't be too long before the Britain Branch releases a video to update U.K. J.W.'s on the wonderful progress being made by the LDC as it shrinks the size of the new Britain Branch complex at Chelmsford - as well as "reminding" the U.K. blinded on how they can support the project's contraction!

Wish me all the best
by LevelThePlayingField inso i called in to my local walgreens pharmacy to get my blood pressure medicine refilled.
i go to the pharmacy to pick it up and they tell me that the doctor has denied filling it saying to them, "prescription refill not appropriate".
i asked them what that means and they say you'll have to contact your doctor on that, sorry.

I wish you success as you tackle your problem, LTPF.
Many of us here are on a similar road to yours, dealing with struggles of one kind or another - even if we can't/won't discuss it.
You're definitely not alone, so never feel as if you are.

Observations from an Ex-Elder Part 1
by doubtfull1799 ini was thinking about the fog model this morning, particularly about the "obligation" part.
my mind went back to the last elders school i went to.
one of the parts in the section on appointments was discussing how we should not place too high a bar (human standards) for brothers to try and jump over when we are considering them for appointment as a ministerial servant.

The org can't quantify good Christian deeds for their Yearbook statistics, so taking care of "widows & orphans" is totally irrelevant when compared to zombie-trolley "witnessing."

Hi Deaconblues. As a baptized J.W. of many years who's seriously studied the scriptures over the past 5 years, I'd like to hear your thoughts on just two of the numerous questionable doctrines of the WTBTS which I've found.
1) Why does the "faithful slave" say that the Catholic church's practice of voluntarily confessing to one priest is unscriptural, when Jehovah's Witnesses are compelled to confess their serious sins to three elders?
At Matthew 18:15-17 Jesus said nothing about elders being involved when someone commits a serious sin. The matter can/should be resolved between the two individuals alone, and no one else. Doing otherwise is going against Christ's words.
2) Why did the original "faithful slave" create the teaching in 1931 that Christians had to witness for Jehovah?
There is not one scripture to validate this teaching, but there are dozens of verses which tell Christians to witness for Christ?
Matt. 10:18; Mark 13:9; Acts 1:8; John 1:15; John 5:37; John 8:18 John 15:26,27; Acts 10:39 Acts 10:43; Acts 13:31; Acts 22:15; Acts 22:20 Acts 23:11; Acts 26:16 1 Cor. 1:6; 1 Tim. 2:6,7 2 Tim. 1:8; 1 John 5:9 Rev. 1:9; Rev. 12:17 Rev. 17:6; Rev. 19:10 Rev. 20:4.
If you can provide one single scripture which says that Christians are to witness for Jehovah, I will stand corrected.
If you cannot respond, I'll completely understand.
